I am currently trying to research my family tree and am getting nowhere fast!!

 

My grandmother used to live on Parys mountain, which I visited regularly as a child and I am now trying to trace her family.

I have the birth certificate for her father Hugh Evans which shows that he was born in Amlwch in 1861 and that his parents were Joseph (occupation-Mariner) and Ellen nee Owen(s?).

I cannot find anything else for either Hugh nor either of his parents, can anyone please help?

			<description>My gggrandfather was Richard Prichard b 1797, married Mary Griffiths b 1804 on 6th October 1823, at Amlwch. They lived at Glan Gors near Rhos y Bol and Richard worked as a miner at Mynydd Parys.



They had nine children: Robert b1824, Evan b1826, David b1829, Margred b1832, Samuel b1833, Richard b1838, John b1841, Thomas b1844, and William b1847.

She migrated to Australia on the 'Colonial Empire' in 1873 aged 24. She was one of 8 children born to John Rowlands (shoemaker) and Martha Davis who were married in the June quarter 1838 at Anglesey.

The address on the 1851 census looks like 8 (bit crossed out) Telyie ? but it is hard to see !. The address in 1861 looks like 49 Penycyio Road Llaindelyn.

			<description>I am looking for more information about my great, great, great grandfather John Hughes (1758-1845) His headstone is in the Amlwch graveyard and it states that he was the 'commander' of a brig called 'Agnes' for many years. I have also seen a copy of the inmemoriam card at Llangefni archives of his son, my great, great grandfather, also John Hughes (1800-1864) that stated that he was captain of the same ship for many years. 			<description><![CDATA[My G Grandmother is Elizabeth Roberts born 1835 in Amlwch who married William Jones (b. Beaumaris 20 Feb 1829). They married at Manchester Cathedral on 3 Apr 1867.

I see that from your church records there is one Elizabeth Roberts born in 1835, but I am trying to take the family further back and I am looking for anyone who knows her parents and there residence at that time.

He was a tailor and draper in Amwlch until he died in 1883 when I think his second wife Ellen carried on the business until about 1886. Peter Williams (my great great grandfather) his son from his first marriage to Jane Pritchard was also a tailor who moved to Liverpool. They had Edward,Owen,Robert,William and maybe at least one  daughter who married with a Lewis.(1841 census and 1851 Llandudno census) and lived at Tai Newydd, Llandudno.



Hugh and his sons were copper miners living Llandudno by 1841.Catherine died between 1842 and 1847 probably

and Hugh maybe eventually remarried an Elizabeth of Conway and worked there as keeper of Conway Market Hall in 1861.He was still alive in 1871 aged 80.
